Originally owned by the Clinchfield Railroad, the caboose was transferred to the Family Lines System, ultimately part of the Seaboard System Railroad and used in north Florida. The use of a CRR 1075 was discontinued in the 1980's, and the caboose was then given to a retired railroad employee who worked at the River Junction Train Station in Chattahoochee, Florida, where the Seaboard System Railroad and the Apalachicola Northern Railroad intersected. CRR 1075 was placed on private property where it has remained until recently donated to West Gadsden Historical Society.
ALL ABOARD THE BLUE CABOOSE Yes, WGHS has been given a caboose! What a wonderful new exhibit to add to the only Railroad museum in Gadsden County - Greensboro Depot Railroad Museum! Ducky Johnson House Movers completed the move in February 2024.
Now it is time to restore the caboose. Would you like to help? Construction experience? Painting? Cheerleading? Come out and support this wonderful opportunity to restore HISTORY!
We are always in need to financial support and as a non-profit organization, all donations are tax deductible. This is a wonderful project where kids can earn community hours needed for school. Let us know! We need your help and support! Gadsdenhistory.org@gmail.com THANK YOU!

Anderson Columbia donated the gravel rock ballast and an additional 25 new railroad ties,
The Bay Line Railroad, Panama City, located and donated original rails and tie plates used by the Apalachicola Northern Railroad, and additionally donated new railway spikes to secure the rails, and
Johnson Farm has donated their equipment and time to pick up all of these materials and deliver them to our site.
A huge thank you goes out to our members and volunteers that step up to perform "manual" labor to construct the new section of rail line. Under the tutelage of The Bay Line Railroad employees, we succeed in constructing 40 feet of railroad!
